NEW SKINCARE OBSESSION!

(This post was sponsored by Olay, but all my opinions are my own).  As we all are spending a lot of time at home, I am finding ways of self-care  to feel my best everyday. One of the things that I take seriously as most of you know is my skin. I barely wear makeup, and that’s because I feel confident about my skin because I take care of it. Now that I’m in my thirties, I am looking for ways to prevent and prolong wrinkles and aging as much as possible. I feel like I live in a world where everyone gets botox and fillers to look younger (which I find nothing wrong with), but if I can prolong doing those things or even doing them at all, and use a product at home that works, why not! I love discovering new products and sharing my skincare obsessions with you on here, I hope you like it too! I have tried lots of different face serums, moisturizers, and gels- I even got into using …

HOW I HANDLE AGING IN MY 30’s

Hi! I wanted to get candid about being in my 30’s and how I feel about aging, taking care of my skin, and how to stay looking young. I don’t do many posts like this because my beauty and skin routine has always been pretty minimal and simple. I have said on here and on Instagram that I have never gotten any plastic surgery, or have anything fake- even down to my hair and nails. I of course have no issues and there is no judgment whatsoever for those who have done those things. Whatever empowers and makes you feel beautiful I think is a good thing, as long as you are doing it for yourself and no one else I fully support it. I always said I want to age gracefully, and never want to alter or change the way God made me, and I still intend to do that. I remember in my 20’s my friends would look at me crazy for never doing botox and I always said I would wait until …

MY THOUGHTS ON THE NEW CANON EOSR MIRRORLESS CAMERA

I have always considered myself a storyteller. That’s how I know the best stories have plot twists in them. Four years ago, I thought I had my storyline mapped out. I was in a happy relationship, working as a producer for E!’s Fashion Police, and living comfortably off steady paychecks. One day I woke up, broke up with my boyfriend, quit my job and dropped all that hard-earned stability for a plane ticket in pursuit of a new adventure. Armed with corporate-job experience that deepened my understanding of the production and storytelling process, I continued to blog (which I had done on the side during my corporate job) about my food, travel and lifestyle passions. Fast forward to present day, and this dream has become more of a reality. Over the years, I have learned about various tools that better showcase my style, as well as which kinds of content are truly engaging for my followers. While much has changed in my style and the “method behind my madness,” if you will, my ultimate goal …

EMSCULPT BODY TREATMENT REVIEW

Happy New Year guys! I know the majority of the posts on my blog are about food and travel but I also wanted to share a little bit about my life when I’m home in LA. Since I’ve had some time off traveling coming into the new year, I’ve decided to focus on myself and self-care. I’ve been giving my body the rest it needs and trying to get back on a routine which is difficult to do when on the road. I don’t consistently work out, I also don’t sleep well and don’t eat right when I travel and it starts to take a toll on me. I finally started to go back in the gym which was SUPER hard for me after months of not going. Because I am in an active mindset right now, in addition to the gym I decided to start EMSCULPT treatments by BTL Aesthetics. EMSCULPT is the first and only non-invasive body treatment that activates and enhances both muscle strength and body fat breakdown. FDA cleared and clinically proven, this treatment …

SKINCARE ROUTINE WITH JOANNA VARGAS

Along with my exercise, makeup, and hair routine,  I get asked about my skincare routine just as much, if not more than anything else. A lot of my followers know I don’t wear much makeup, if any at all, so having good skin is really important to me. I’ve been blessed to never have gotten pimples or acne in my life- nor do I have any sun spots or blemishes on my face. I’ve always kept my skin care routine simple. I make sure to wash my face and moisturize every night, and in the morning I lightly rinse my face and moisturize with SPF usually. I’ve previously blogged about my daily skincare routine using a few of my favorite products, and I wanted to share what I’ve been using recently. I’ve been using Joanna Vargas skincare products for the past couple months and have been really liking them. I am on a one month long trip in Europe at the moment and brought her products along with me to continue my at-home daily skincare routine. Below …

A GLIMPSE OF REALNESS!!! BEHIND THE SCENES OF MY TRAVELS

Everybody knows Instagram isn’t really REAL. People edit the shit out of their pictures, they show the best second of their day…it’s not an accurate depiction of someone’s real life. People show what they want you to see. I am guilty of it myself…I kind of got sucked in to the whole “pretty Instagram thing”. Everyone wants their page to look cool, you want to brand yourself, and I totally get it. It’s what pays the bills for some of us so we conform to what works, what brands like, and what will give you the most likes. I have been struggling to find a way to find a different lane, to try and show the most authentic ME as possible. My followers do know I love to eat, which is something they see through my IG stories and snap chats, giving a more “behind the scenes” look into me and my life. Food is a huge part of who I am. I like Instagram stories and LIVE, because people can actually see and get …

TEMPORARY BI-COASTAL: MY SOHO NYC PAD!

I’m very excited to share that I am officially bi-coastal and will be traveling back and forth from LA to NY! I have always wanted to live in New York, but never ended up making the move because of work and travel… then my sister moved there a few years ago and I decided to get the best of both worlds by visiting regularly throughout the year- it gave me my NY fix. But this year I decided I wanted to spend more time there and found an amazing apartment in the heart of Soho. Apartment hunting in New York is stressful and a bit discouraging – you can see hundreds of apartments and every one has something missing. There’s really no such thing as the perfect NY apartment unless you want to spend a pretty penny – a very pretty penny. The apartment I found is perfect for what I need temporarily, and it couldn’t be in a more ideal location. You walk out my door and you’re in the heart of Soho with all …

MAKING LIFESTYLE CHANGES

The number one question I’m asked… Whats my diet and workout routine, and how I stay in shape while traveling. I wrote a post about it a few years ago that you can read here, but I have some new tips and “adjustments” since I wrote that article. I thought there is no better time than now than writing this article again, because I FINALLY am making the shift into a healthier lifestyle. Took only 30 years…better late than never lol! Like I said in my previous article I wrote a few years ago, I am extremely blessed that I am not overweight with my history in how much I can eat along with my poor eating habits. I love my burgers! If you know me, you know I LOVE all food, and have pretty much been able to eat what I want my whole life (thank you mom and dad), but as I’m getting older I realized I had to do some major adjustments with my lifestyle. It’s not just about having a good body …
