NEW YORK, NEW YORK

Whenever I go on a long trip, I usually start off in New York to break up the flight time. I spend a few days there, get a few meetings and work in, visit my sister who lives there, and then head somewhere from the East Coast. This was the trip before I headed to Italy, Greece and Croatia in August. I stayed at The Time Hotel in Manhattan for a few days, and headed to Italy from there. I ate at a really bomb place in Brooklyn called Emily which is known for their burger and pizzas. I will do a separate blog post on it 🙂 I also visited Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center for an amazing view of Manhattan. ($32 general admission to go to the top) I am going on another long trip in a few weeks to Europe, and will  be back in NYC again- I love it there. Below are a few pictures from my trip in August. NY NY

I go to New York pretty often for work and to visit my sister. My sis has lived there for the past 5 years so I always find a reason to visit. Last trip I went to surprise her for her birthday and we ate the entire city which is pretty much the only thing I do when I go to NY. I visited the end of October/beginning of November so it was the middle of Fall. New York is beautiful in the fall, especially Central Park which I had to visit. Below are a few pictures from my trip! Food highlights below (in order): Dominique Ansel Bakery (frozen smore’s & chocolate chip cookie shots), Rubirosa (pizza), and Peter Lugars Steakhouse in Brooklyn.

CARBONE, NYC

I went to Carbone for dinner after the NBA All Star game in New York this past Sunday. My sister who lives in New York, made a reservation for Carbone a month in advance. It’s not easy to get in. I was sitting court side at the All Star Game and had to leave at half time and give up my court side seat to make it in time for our 10:15pm reservation! You might think I’m crazy to give up my court side seat, but if you know me, you know how I take food very seriously so I wasn’t going to let this reservation go to waste. During halftime, I FINALLY had the chance to meet Jay Z (which I’ve been waiting my whole life for), so I was coming off a high. I felt like my life was complete, so it made leaving the game a little easier (ha). Before talking about the food, I have to mention that our table was a foot away from Nas at Carbone. We chatted through out dinner and …

WHAT I WORE…GQ NBA ALL STAR PARTY, NYC

Hey guys! Just returned from New York Fashion Week. It was painfully cold so I’m happy to be back in sunny Los Angeles. I was so busy field producing for E! Fashion Police, so I didn’t get to take many #OOTD pictures around the city unfortunately. I did want to share my outfit this past Saturday night at the GQ NBA All-Star party hosted by Lebron James. It was a dope party- The Roots, Rae Kwon & Nas all performed and the crowd was great.  I did my own makeup and wore an H&M dress with Max Mara fur and Manolo Blank thigh high boots. What do you think of my look?

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

I recently just got back from New York Fashion Week.  I was out there producing for E! Fashion Police and was running around the city going from one fashion show to the next interviewing designers backstage and celebrities sitting front row. It was my third year in a row going to NYFW and the energy in the city is just amazing.  Arriving at the Donna Karan Fashion Show to produce a piece with Donna Karan, model Jessica White, and the hottest makeup artist in the business-Charlotte Tilbury Dress: Naked Wardrobe / Shoes: Sergio Rossi / Purse & Sunglasses: YSL At  our E! RUBIROSA, NEW YORK CITY

I was recently in New York for Fashion week and obviously had to hit up some good food while I was out there for my blog. On my lunch break my friend and I decided to head to the heart of Nolita to the Italian eatery Rubirosa. My friend was craving good Italian food and I was recommended to go to this place so we decided to give it a try. It was perfect. We had such a great lunch!  FETTUCCINE ALFREDO This wasn’t on the regular menu, it was a special for that day. Our server recommended it and said it was a really good pasta. It was! It was a lighter version of your typical take on fettuccine Alfredo- the sauce wasn’t as creamy as your traditional Alfredo sauce, and the pasta had lots of vegetables in it so it tasted healthier and not as heavy. It still had great flavor and the pasta melted in your mouth. You could tell by the texture that it was all fresh, handmade …

MISTER SOFTEE, NEW YORK CITY

I love Mister Softee! If you are a New Yorker, than you know Mister Softee. There are a bunch of trucks around the city and it’s basically just a really yummy ice cream truck! I love their simple vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles. The ice cream is so creamy, fluffy and delicious. If you are ever in New York and see a Mister Softee truck, you have to stop for a quick sweet treat 🙂  *MY SISTER GOT A CHOCOLATE CONE WITH CHOCOLATE SPRINKLES & I GOT A VANILLA CONE WITH RAINBOW SPRINKLES* To find out where the daily truck locations are in NYC, check out their website! MINETTA TAVERN, NEW YORK CITY

MY SISTER AND I HEADING OUT AFTER MINETTA TAVERN I basically just went to Minetta Tavern for their very famous “Black Label” burger. I have heard about this burger through word of mouth and have seen it featured on food shows on the Food & Travel Channel. Since I consider myself the “Burger Queen” lol (burgers are definitely my favorite food), I had to see what the hype was about this famous Black Label burger for $26. I didn’t bother to order anything else, I came there for one reason only lol. Peep my Minetta Tavern burger review below!  BLACK LABEL BURGER $26 Selection of Prime dry-aged beef cuts with caramelized onions & pommes frites   The meat itself was amazing. You could taste the quality in it. It was very juicy and cooked perfectly medium rare. Is it one of my favorite burgers? No. Even though the meat was very good, I think it would have been a way better burger with cheese. I love meat and cheese together and that’s why I love …

ABC KITCHEN, NEW YORK CITY

ABC Kitchen in New York City is absolutely adorable and the food is great! It’s pretty famous in New York and a little tough to get into, but it is a great restaurant choice if you are in the city. It’s rustic decor makes it charming and cozy, and when I went it was a Friday night and it was buzzing and packed with people. Creator of the ABC Kitchen menu is the famous chef Jean-Georges, where he is passionately dedicated to creating each dish using only fresh organic and local ingredients. We had a very “cheesy” dinner lol…you’ll know what I mean when you check out my food reviews below! ROASTED KABOCHA SQUASH TOAST, FRESH RICOTTA & APPLE CIDER VINEGAR They brought this as complimentary from the house, and after my first bite I knew I was going to have a good meal at ABC Kitchen. The salty and creamy ricotta cheese mixed with the flavors of the sweet squash on that fresh toasted bread was heaven. It was such a delightful combination of flavors, a …
