SOUL CYCLE + MALIBU FARM CAFE

I finally had the chance to take a Soul Cycle class! It was so much fun! I went to the one in Malibu and took a 10:30am class. It’s very high energy, and you sweat A LOT. I suggest wearing exercise shorts like Nike Pros, and a sports bra or a loose fitting tank. You should wear as minimum as possible because you are dripping sweat by the end of class. I hate working out, but they play dance music and the class goes by quick so it’s a great workout that makes you sweat but doesn’t feel too long. After my Soul Cycle class I had brunch at Malibu Farm Cafe on the end of the Malibu Pier. They had this quinoa oatmeal sweetened with maple syrup that was to die for! www.soul-cycle.com www.malibu-farm.com

GEOFFREY’S, MALIBU

I took my mom to Geoffrey’s in Malibu for Mother’s Day. Geoffrey’s is located on a bluff over looking the ocean in Malibu, the views are beautiful and the food is really good. Although they are known for their seafood dishes, they have great steak and meat dishes as well. The food and ambiance are both amazing. It’s great for any special occasion, and also romantic for a good date spot. A little pricey, but worth it. Check out the dishes we ordered! SAUTEED CRAWFISH CAKE Spicy Cajun Remoulade This was so good! Might have been my favorite thing we ordered. I loved the spicy cajun cream sauce. It tasted almost like a crab cake, but it was the sauce that made it. Not sure if this is on the regular menu though, it might just be a special for featured events they have at the restaurant.  LOBSTER & SCALLOP CEVICHE Fresh Maine Lobster, Day Boat Scallops, Mango Habanero Chili Water served with Mini Taco Shells  FILET MIGNON Cheddar Potatoes, Topped With a Blue Cheese …

PARADISE COVE BEACH CAFE, MALIBU

I’m dedicating this post to my favorite and best clam chowder ever. I give the award for best clam chowder to Paradise Cove Beach Cafe in Malibu.      Paradise Cove is a secret hideaway beach in Malibu with a beach bar, cafe/restaurant, and take-out counter. Paradise Cove Beach Cafe has a huge menu of food and specialty beach cocktails right on the sands of a private beach with wooden lounge chairs, cabanas and day beds. During the summer, Paradise Cove is always busy and a popular place to go for beach lounging and dining. I love this place. Whether you go for breakfast or brunch and to spend a day on the beach, for lunch, or an early dinner watching the sunset, Paradise Cove is exclusive, charming and beautiful.      Paradise Cove Beach Cafe has a huge menu offering great seafood and American specialties. Everything is good, but what is especially amazing is their award winning Clam Chowder. This is my favorite clam chowder I’ve ever had. It’s perfect. What I love about it, is there are …

GLADSTONES, MALIBU

Open since 1972, and recently bought out by SBE, Gladstones has been a Southern California restaurant landmark for many years. Located right on the ocean off PCH and Sunset Blvd, Gladstones is a fun, beautiful, yet casual place to dine for any occasion. What I remember of Gladstones when I used to go as a kid with my family growing up, were all the huge barrels of peanuts that people used to snack on while waiting for their table. The floor was covered with peanut shells and hay and I used to be infatuated by the big tanks of live lobster in the front of the restaurant. Since SBE took over Gladstones, all of this is gone, and the restaurant has more of a pristine, “crisp” & trendy look to it. Even the menu has changed. Newer feeling and vamped up, Glasdstones has entered a new era, Gladstones by SBE. This trendy SoCal restaurant right on the beach is a must. After laying on the beach for a couple hours, my friends and I decided to grab lunch at …

MOONSHADOWS, MALIBU

For Father’s Day, I took my dad to Moonshadows in Malibu. Moonshadows is a beautiful restaurant right on the ocean. Whether sitting on the open sundeck for brunch on top of the ocean, a window seat indoors in the dining room with an ocean view at sunset, or a drink at the bar/lounge, Moonshadows is great for any occasion. The ocean views are truly breathtaking, and the food is definitely something to blog about. MY VIEW BEHIND ME SITTING AT OUR TABLE COCKTAILS My favorite cocktail: MOJITO Minty & crisp! SIPPIN’. EXCUSE THE NO MAKEUP TAKING IN THE VIEW. THE BEACH IS MY FAVORITE PLACE APPETIZERS FRESH, WARM AMAZING ROLLS TO START SWEET MAINE LOBSTER CEASER SALAD Baby Romaine, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Focaccia Croutons, Caesar Dressing $18 Creamy and delcious. Big chunks of lobster and freshly cooked bacon. Perfect combination and the texture was perfect. Love caesar salad, but never had a lobster caesar before, and I loved the creaminess of the dressing with the lobster. Great salad! SUSHI ROKU HAPPY HOUR & WINETASTING AT MALIBU WINES

After a beautiful day winetasting at Malibu Wines, I went to Santa Monica for happy hour at Sushi Roku. Located on Ocean Ave. with views of the ocean, and just a couple steps away from Third Street Promenade, Sushi Roku is a popular sushi restaurant with a good happy hour. I heard about Sushi Roku Happy Hour from being featured on a news special on TV. Supposedly one of the best happy hours in Los Angeles, so I wanted to try it out. I love happy hour- it’s perfect for an after work early dinner when you don’t want to eat so late, and of course everything is half off which makes it even better! I went to the Sushi Roku in Santa Monica (they also have one in West Hollywood and other locations). The Happy Hour is from 5pm-6:30pm Monday-Friday & 4:30pm-6:30pm on Sundays. COCKTAILS: Roku’s Fusion Martini- $5. Skyy Vodka, Honeydew Cantaloupe, & Watermelon with Pineapple & Cranberry Juice combined.  So sweet and delicious! It tasted like a watermelon Jolly Rancher! lol. Our bartender was super …
