It’s finally here!
It’s been almost two months since my trip to Israel, and I finally got my shit together and got this video done. If you have been following my adventures for awhile, you probably saw my first Israel video I posted two years ago on my YouTube Channel. Israel is a very special place for me. My dad is Israeli and grew up in Israel, and I have a big family there. Visiting Israel growing up became part of my life and is now a huge part of me. The world has many misconceptions about Israel, and I didn’t get into the politics of it in this video, but I did want to show a glimpse of my personal experience there and what it means to me. It is my favorite place in the world.
I produced this with Solmaz Saberi, (www.solmazsaberi.com) who travels with me on my trips. Because Israel is a complicated place, we wanted to take a different approach on how we filmed this time and what we wanted this video to be. In the beginning, there is a quick behind the scenes glimpse of how it is when we travel, who we meet and the questions we ask along the way. When I asked a Muslim guy about Jerusalem, it was really me being curious of his take on the holy place, and wanted to see how he explained it. I also ask questions that I’m honestly curious about and don’t know the answers to, even though I have traveled to Israel many times. To make things clear if you didn’t quite get it from the video, everyone is allowed anywhere in Jerusalem, there is just very high security and obviously safety precautions due to the tension there. The only place that is restricted is the Dome of The Rock Mosque- you are unable to enter inside unless you are Muslim and are able to recite a verse from the Quran.
If you visit Israel, my personal favorite places are Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Eilat, and the Dead Sea. There are so many other amazing places like the Sea of Galilee, Haifa, Netanya, Cesarea, Mount Masada and so much more. This video highlights my favorite moments of the trip. I originally on this trip with the Israel Board of Tourism for Tel Aviv Fashion Week, which you can see the Fashion Week video in my previous post HERE. I decided to extend my trip and travel around Israel to create this video, and show more than just fashion week there.
Israel is a place with rich culture, fascinating history and home to the holiest place in the world, for all religions. It is one of those places you have to visit at least once in your life.
Below are some of my pictures from the trip, and you can also see more from the same trip in my Tel Aviv Fashion Week post.
