IL BORRO, TUSCANY

I’ve been to Italy many times, but this was my first time visiting Tuscany. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t have had a better first experience. I stayed at Salvatore Ferragamo’s resort called IL BORRO.  Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves is the 700 acre estate in the heart of Tuscany known as Il Borro. The property is breathtaking, and it is one of those places in the world that is truly magical.  Il Borro was established more than a thousand years ago and has a lot of rich history. A lot of the ancient history remains a mystery, but it is known that the property was a lookout point on the Roman road “Cassia”which they built a fort due to its strategic location. Prestigious families owned the property dated back to the 12th century, until Ferruccio Ferragamo bought the resort in 1993 and restored the estate to what it is today. BERMUDA

A quick flight from New York and anywhere on the East Coast is the island of Bermuda. I often visit New York and have always wanted to make the trip to Bermuda because it’s so close, and I finally did. Bermuda is a happy and beautiful island. I was blown away by how genuinely friendly and happy the locals were. I found in all my travels that the local people have such an impact on your experience. My most magical travel experiences are in places where the local people have good energy. The energy of a place is highly affected by the energy of the people there. Unfortunately out of the three days I was in Bermuda, it rained two of those days. I only had one sunny day to experience the island and its beaches and that was not enough. I was definitely not ready to leave. Because it was raining, we had to figure out other things to do besides lay by the pool and go to the beach. We decided to visit …

MYKONOS, GREECE

After spending a few days in Santorini, I spent the last few days of my Greece trip on the island of Mykonos. Mykonos has a very different vibe than Santorini. It’s considered the “party” island, and is very lively and fun while Santorini is a bit more quiet, laid back and romantic. I stayed at the Myconian Villa Collection/ Utopia Resort which was a bit of a drive from Mykonos Town but on a more exclusive part of the island located above Elia Beach. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved the architecture and interior decor. I loved taking pictures of the property because the designs were inspo and everything was so photogenic. I was in absolute heaven. I definitely recommend heading into Mykonos town for eating and shopping, as well as Nammos beach for a “trendy” social scene and beach party experience. I was told by many that you haven’t experienced Mykonos unless you’ve been to Scorpios beach club. I didn’t get a chance to go but it came highly recommended by several people …

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC W/ MODELISTE MAGAZINE

For those that follow me, you know I’ve been traveling like crazy! I just got back from New York, Italy, Greece and Croatia, and heading back to New York this week for Fashion Week. Sorry for the gap in my postings! I wanted to share pictures from my recent trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with Modeliste Magazine and a few of my favorite bloggers. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana. The resort is absolutely HUGE. It’s an all-inclusive with several restaurants on property, as well as lots of pools and even a casino and night club. It feels like a Vegas hotel.  There is a lot going on, and it’s located on a beautiful beach. My room was beautiful and spacious and I had my own hot tub in the middle of it. PUNTA CANA, DR

I recently visited Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for the 2nd time. I was there with a group of friends, and we basically just relaxed, ate & drank, played Monopoly and did a one day boat excursion. I was only there for 3 days so it was a pretty short trip, and I didn’t take many pictures because I tried to shut my brain off and disconnect. I had done a lot of traveling before getting there so I just needed a few days to relax and unwind. I was pretty much a slob (ha). I’ve been to most islands in the Caribbean and they are all beautiful, but one I haven’t been to that is next on my list is Turks & Caicos. Stay tuned!

BORACAY | PHILLIPPINES

Boracay is the fun party island of the Philippines and it is absolutely beautiful. Boracay is where I swam as a mermaid. I also tried  BALUT which is a common food in Southeast Asia. Balut is a developing duck embryo boiled alive and eaten from the shell of the egg. It’s supposed to be a good source of protein. I was absolutely terrified to try it but I had a small taste and it wasn’t so bad. I also tried chicken intestines on a stick from a cart on the beach which I actually enjoyed. CEBU, PHILIPPINES

My trip to the Philippines was absolutely amazing. It was so beautiful there and the people were extremely nice and friendly. I started in Manila and island hopped from Cebu to Boracay to El Nido. I did everything from swimming with whale sharks to dancing with fire in the rain, being a mermaid and zip lining over the ocean. I already shared with you a couple clips being a mermaid and swimming with whale sharks, but here are a couple of my favorite pictures from Cebu (including Kawasan Falls). Next blog post will be on an amazing hole in the wall where they serve the best “Lechon” in Cebu. Stay tuned!
