YANG CHOW YUMMINESS, WOODLAND HILLS

My family and I have been going to Yang Chow for years. It is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. If you like Chinese food, I highly recommend this place. They make everything fresh when you order it. My family and I definitely have our favorites on the menu and we usually get the same thing every time we go lol. The Slippery Shrimp is where it’s at! Yang Chow is a sit down restaurant. They bring you Chinese tea and cabbage salad to start and then take your order. It’s not a quick fast food take out place. I go to the one in the valley on Topanga Blvd in Woodland Hills right across from the Westfield Topanga Mall but there are two other locations, one closer to downtown LA, and one in Pasadena. My Yang Chow favorites: (all in picture above) SLIPPERY SHRIMP– this is my absolute favorite. Yang Chow is famous for this dish! Soooo good. Chicken Lo Mein Szechuan Chicken (it’s pretty much orange chicken) Dry Sauteed String Beans with minced pork Make sure …

SAUCE ON HAMPTON- VENICE, CA

If you are ever in the Santa Monica or Venice area, Sauce is a delicious hole in the wall. My sister and I usually do the Santa Monica stairs, and head to Sauce after our work out for a yummy healthy brunch. This spot is TINY, but the food is really good, and it’s all healthy and organic. In the picture above, I created my own chicken sandwich with cheese, avocado, tomato, bacon, and a spicy chipotle sauce. It was really good. Everthing is tasty- they have fresh salads, a variety of omelets and breakfast sandwiches, burgers, fish, etc. The ciabatta bread at Sauce is sooo good & the sweet potatoes are a must! My recommendations: Turkey burger with a side of sweet potatoes Create your own sandwich! They will make anything for you (the one I created above was yum) Super Breakfast Sandwich instead of wheat, sub it for CIABATTA bread Sweet potatoes & ciabatta bread are really good so I recommend a dish with those two in it, lol Sauce on Hampton 259 Hampton Drive CA 90291 …

FAT SAL’S DELI

Today for lunch, I had pretty much a heart attack in a baguette lol. But is was sooooooooo bomb. Now, THIS is my kind of food. If you eat too healthy, this isn’t the place for you lol. You don’t see many women devouring this kind of food, especially in LA where you have the “salad eaters”, you know, the girls who eat rabbit food all day. Fat Sal’s is on some other shit. Like I’m talkin’ bout the real deal epic kind of shit. It’s grub food at its finest and the best part about it, it’s open late night. It’s located in Westwood on Gayley right off the UCLA campus (I’m a proud UCLA alumni btw). It’s right next to In’ N Out on Gayley where fraternity row is. They are opening another location in Hollywood too, coming soon! Fat Sal’s is a gold mine. It’s amazing food for cheap for all the broke college students lol and it’s in the perfect location! It’s a little stand (no inside seating), with a a …

FLEMING’S STEAKHOUSE

Alright. This is serious. Burgers are my favorite food of all time. I am always on the hunt for the best burger not only in Los Angeles, but in the world. I’ve had some pretty damn good burgers in my life, but Fleming’s for happy hour is one of my favorite places in the world. It has the BEST happy hour I’ve ever been to. I’m a regular there, I usually go once a week. Everything is so delicious- 5 star quality food for the best prices. The prime burger is usually $12, but if you go for happy hour it is 6 bucks. Fleming’s has happy hour EVERYDAY! (4pm-7pm Mon-Sat, and 5pm-7pm on Sunday). Everything on the happy hour menu is $6 for all food and cocktails (martini’s, beer and wine- posted a picture of happy hour menu below). At Flemings Steakhouse you get the 5-star quality dining experience for half the price if you go at happy hour and sit in the bar. It is a nice, romantic steakhouse but if you sit …

NAOUSSA RESTAURANT- SANTORINI, GREECE

If you’ve never had the Middle-Eastern Dish “MOUSSAKA”, you are truly missing out on life. It is a traditional Greek recipe, similar to what American’s know as “lasagna”, but even better. Moussaka can be made a little differently, depending on where you go, but Naoussa Resturant in Fira Santorini, Greece, I believe has the BEST home-made moussaka in the world, and trust me, I’ve tried a lot of moussaka. Naoussa is a cozy tavern located in one of the many charming cobblestone alleys in Santorini. I traveled to Greece in the summer with my sister, and this place took us a little while to find because there are so many little white-stone alleys that it’s super easy to get lost. Naoussa Restaurant was highly recommended by our 5-star hotel we stayed at in Santorini, and they said you must try the moussaka. They said the restaurant is known for having the best moussaka on the island, so of course I was on the hunt to find this place to see what all the hype was about. Us …

CiCi’s CAFE-TARZANA, CA

Located in the valley-Tarzana, CA on Ventura Blvd, this breakfast/brunch/lunch spot is always crackin’. ESPECIALLY on Sundays for brunch. As you can see from the picture above, there is usually always a wait for brunch on the weekends. Similar to “The Griddle” in Hollywood, Cici’s has huge portions and a ginormous menu. There is pages and pages of sweet and savory breakfast/lunch dishes to choose from, and everything is amazing on the menu. I LOVE this place! RED VELVET PANCAKES   CICI’S STRAWBERRY FRENCH TOAST CICI SCRAMBLE  CICI SCRAMBLE MAMA BEA OMELET MAMA BEA OMELET If you usually have a sweet tooth for breakfast, this place is perfect for pancakes, waffles, french toast or crepes. If you like eggs for breakfast, this place has incredible omelets, egg scrambles or eggs benedict. The menu is a little overwhelming because there is such a variety and so much to choose from, but it has something for everyone. They have a great lunch menu as well with salads, burgers, sandwiches and more.   MY PERSONAL FAVORITES ARE: *Sugar & Cream*- The Wacky Waffle. …

MASTRO’S STEAKHOUSE- MY FAVORITE!

If you like steak, Mastros Steakhouse is one of my top favorite steakhouses. I usually go to the one in Beverly Hills, but this picture is from Mastro’s Ocean Club in Newport Beach, CA. If you’re in LA and are looking for a great steak experience, one of my recommendations would defintely be Mastros. Each Mastros has a piano bar with live music with a bar section, different dining rooms with a traditional romantic upscale vibe. Everything is amazing at Mastros, but these are a few of my personal favorites: APPETIZERS Sauteed shrimp (melts in your mouth, and has a spicy cajun kick and the crostini’s in the sauce are literally one of the best things you’ll very put in your mouth) Ahi tuna tartar (crispy wontons and lots of avacado which I love, and spicy mayo drizzled on top) ENTREES: (Pictures of both above) Bone in rib-eye, medium, charred If you don’t eat meat, the sea bass melts in your mouth! You can get it prepared three different ways. One of the best I …

IN N’ OUT BURGER

My first post, and I had to start with the OBVIOUS. If you haven’t been to the west coast and tried In N’ Out, you are truly missing out on one of the best things ever made on this earth. I’ve had almost all the best burgers in the WORLD, but this small fast food chain always seems to stay on the top of my list when it comes to burgers. I always order the double double with cheese (sometimes I get animal style- grilled oinions/sauce). You gotta ask for animal style because they don’t advertise it on the menu. I ALWAYS get animal style fries though. The best! The menu is simple, and I’ve learned that sometimes simplicity is the key to success. It’s simple, fast, cheap and delicious. A MUST have if you’ve never been. You’re honestly missing out on life! Oh, and their milkshakes are amazing. They only offer vanilla, chocolate and strawberry but you can mix any of them together. I get vanilla-strawberry 🙂
