IL BORRO, TUSCANY

I’ve been to Italy many times, but this was my first time visiting Tuscany. I absolutely loved it and couldn’t have had a better first experience. I stayed at Salvatore Ferragamo’s resort called IL BORRO.  Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves is the 700 acre estate in the heart of Tuscany known as Il Borro. The property is breathtaking, and it is one of those places in the world that is truly magical.  Il Borro was established more than a thousand years ago and has a lot of rich history. A lot of the ancient history remains a mystery, but it is known that the property was a lookout point on the Roman road “Cassia”which they built a fort due to its strategic location. Prestigious families owned the property dated back to the 12th century, until Ferruccio Ferragamo bought the resort in 1993 and restored the estate to what it is today. I stayed in one of their luxury suites in the quaint and charming medieval village. The village is untouched from hundreds of years ago, and it …

SANTORINI, GREECE

I love summers in Europe. After I went to Italy this summer I went to Greece for a few days and visited Santorini and Mykonos. I had been to both places before in 2010, but wanted to go back again because I loved it. This time around was a different experience, but was still amazing in its own way. I flew from Naples, Italy straight to Santorini. I stayed in Fira for two nights and in between Fira and Oia for the other two nights. If I went back again, I would have stayed in Oia instead of Fira. Fira is great to go out for a night or visit for a day but the best place to stay in Santorini is Oia in my opinion. Oia is picture perfect- everywhere you look is like a postcard. There are charming shops, restaurants and boutique hotels on the cliffside and the views are incredible. Make sure to venture down the steps to the sea and have dinner by the water. There is a killer lobster pasta at …

MY LIFE IN A NUTSHELL

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know what I’m about. My life passion’s are food, travel and culture. I graduated UCLA with a degree in World Arts and Culture and dance, and quit my steady job at E! to travel the world full time and show different culture from around the world. My mission is to inspire you to get out of your comfort zone. To book the flight to a place you’ve always wanted to go. To educate and unveil economical and political issues in the places I travel to. To motivate you to follow your dreams and do what you are truly passionate about. Take the risk. Live and love to the fullest, and help make the world a better place by spreading good energy and positivity. Being a foodie is what started everything for me. I started this blog in 2009 as a food blog, and would write and review restaurants I would eat at across the world. I would book my trips based on food I wanted to try and restaurants I wanted to …

ARUBA

I jetted off to a last minute trip to Aruba for the weekend with Marriott Caribbean & Latin America Resorts. I went through their newly launched Solo Travel Series which is such a cool concept for traveling solo. It offers two packages- one called “All About Me” and the other “Solo & Social” to cater to different types of solo travelers. This really appealed to me because I started traveling solo after I quit my steady job last year, and basically started traveling alone to build my own brand and try to make a living out of it. Many people don’t have someone to travel with so they decide to travel alone, and this program offers all the safety precautions so all you have to do is enjoy yourself and not have to worry about the risks that come along with traveling solo. I got to Aruba after a hurricane and left right before Hurricane Nicole (how coincidental/appropriate lol) so I got really lucky. The weather was cloudy the first day and the ocean wasn’t calm like it …

ANOTHER SUMMER IN ITALY

Italy is one of my favorite countries in the world. It has sentimental value to me because that is the first place I went after I quit my job at E! for 5 years, to take the risk of starting my own brand and build an empire. I bought a one-way ticket to Naples and never looked back. This was last summer, and since then its been a year with lots of traveling, grinding and no sleep. It’s been challenging but I wouldn’t have traded it for the world. I had ups and downs and times where I felt extremely discouraged but knew I had to keep going. It’s been a monumental year with my growth as a brand, and although I haven’t reached my full potential or anywhere near where I want to be yet, I know I made the right decision and am headed in the right direction. I hope people will soon see my overall mission, and respect my movement. I recently came out with my own swim line and it has been doing …
