I’ve done quite a few posts now about burgers on my blog. It has been the “Battle of the Burgers”, and LA is known for some pretty damn good burgers. UMAMI Burger is one of the best places to get a legitimate burger in LA. Many people I know have named this place the BEST burger they’ve ever had, and I admit it is REALLY REALLY GOOD, but is it the BEST? Read my other burger posts to find out what I think 😉

Umami is very “trendy LA”. There are a bunch of locations now, and all have a cool & trendy vibe to it. I recently went to the one in Studio City that just opened up, but have been to other locations as well. Umami is definitely in my “Top 3” when it comes to burgers, but it’s not my number one. The meat at Umami is incredible. It literally melts in your mouth and is so juicy with incredible flavor. My favorite burger, and the one really worth recommending, is the TRUFFLE BURGER. I’ve tried the Hatch Burger & Umami Burger, which are both good too, but the Truffle Burger is much better in my opinion. It has amazing flavor and the meat with the truffle glaze is out of this world. It’s so JUICY. I love anything with truffle in it, so that might be the reason why I think this burger is so amazing. There isn’t anything else on the burger besides the truffle cheese, and it doesn’t need anything else. The meat and cheese speak for itself and it doesn’t need anything else to distract and take away from those flavors. EXCEPT I recommend some garlic aioli lol.

UMAMI BURGER– house-made ground beef, oven roasted tomatoes, caramelized onions, parmesean frico, shitake mushrooms- This burger is also good, but the cheese is not gooey. It’s a parmesean cheese crisp. One of my favorite parts about a burger is the melted cheese with the meat, so having hard cheese kind of kills this for me…

HATCH BURGER– 4 types of green chilies, house made American cheese- This is my second favorite. This is amazing and has a spicy kick to it which I love. I recommend this one as well.

AHI TUNA BURGER– Hand chopped ahi tuna, crushed avocado, gingered pickles, wasabi flake- This is great if you don’t feel like eating beef!

I always order the regular fries, sweet potato fries or cheesy tater tots for the side.(Only sometimes they have the cheesy tater tots, depending on location and if it’s being featured for the day). Not a big fan of the thick truffle fries and beer battered onion rings though. Too starchy tasting. They have great dipping sauces too like garlic aioli, Umami ketchip, jalapeno ranch, house spread, Komu relish, and a Dijon mustard.
