For Father’s Day, I took my dad to Moonshadows in Malibu. Moonshadows is a beautiful restaurant right on the ocean. Whether sitting on the open sundeck for brunch on top of the ocean, a window seat indoors in the dining room with an ocean view at sunset, or a drink at the bar/lounge, Moonshadows is great for any occasion. The ocean views are truly breathtaking, and the food is definitely something to blog about.

Baby Romaine, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Focaccia Croutons, Caesar Dressing
|Creamy and delcious. Big chunks of lobster and freshly cooked bacon.
Perfect combination and the texture was perfect. Love caesar salad, but never had a lobster caesar before, and I loved the creaminess of the dressing with the lobster. Great salad!
|SPICY HAWAIIAN AHI TUNA TARTARE
Gingered Cucumber, Crispy Marinated Seaweed, Avocado Puree, Wasabi Drizzle & Wonton Chip
|OMG. This was so amazing. I highly recommend! Very popular dish at Moonshadows, and for good reason. This reminded me of my favorite ahi tuna tartare at Mastro’s Steakhouse. MUST TRY! The combination of flavors and spice were perfect. The fresh spicy tuna, with the avocado, pickled cucumber and seaweed at the bottom created the perfect bite. Nothing like fresh raw fish with a good sauce, avocado and cucumber. Put it on top of a wonton chip, you have every element you need. Perfection. Have to go back for this soon!

Ginger Braised Baby Bok Choy & Shitake Mushrooms, Ponzu Sauce, Matcha Green Tea Rice
|Best dish of the night. This fish melts in your mouth. I love miso black cod- love the flavor of miso and black cod is such a buttery-flakey fish. One of my favorites. The mushrooms and green tea rice add nice texture to the dish. The flavors worked perfectly together and overall this was the PERFECT plate. My dad LOVED the black cod, he is still raving about it! Lol

Lobster linguini with pink sauce
|Lots of tender lobster in a creamy pink sauce. The sauce could have used more kick to it, maybe if it was spicier. It lacked something, a kick of spice would have done the trick but still overall a good dish.

Homemade Apple Compote
|One of the best creme brulee’s ever. It was damn good. Creamy and perfect custard inside and the top was hard and flakey just how I like it. There was diced apple compote with berries on top. This is one of my favorite desserts, sometimes some are much better than others, this one was perfect. One of the best I’ve had!
