TEMPORARY BI-COASTAL: MY SOHO NYC PAD!

I’m very excited to share that I am officially bi-coastal and will be traveling back and forth from LA to NY! I have always wanted to live in New York, but never ended up making the move because of work and travel… then my sister moved there a few years ago and I decided to get the best of both worlds by visiting regularly throughout the year- it gave me my NY fix. But this year I decided I wanted to spend more time there and found an amazing apartment in the heart of Soho. Apartment hunting in New York is stressful and a bit discouraging – you can see hundreds of apartments and every one has something missing. There’s really no such thing as the perfect NY apartment unless you want to spend a pretty penny – a very pretty penny. The apartment I found is perfect for what I need temporarily, and it couldn’t be in a more ideal location. You walk out my door and you’re in the heart of Soho with all …

OAHU, HAWAII

In the beginning of this year I wrote my Hawaii travel guide on the islands of Oahu, Maui and Kauai. I recently just went back on a girls trip with my mom and sister to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We only visited Oahu this time but wanted to write out my favorite moments and adventures from the trip! I love Oahu. I feel it is the most well-rounded of the islands- it has the city culture of Waikiki while still possessing the beauty of Hawaii’s nature and beautiful beaches. My mom really wanted to stay at The Kahala Hotel & Resort in Honolulu because we vacationed there as a family when I was little with my grandparents, and she felt the need to go back years later and experience it again with my sister and I. The Kahala Hotel & Resort is probably considered one of the nicest, if not the nicest resort on the island. It’s in a quiet part of the island and the resort feels remote and removed from all the action of …

LA QUINTA RESORT & CLUB + L’SPACE GETAWAY, PALM SPRINGS

Escaped to the desert for a little getaway this past weekend at La Quinta Resort & Club. I was invited by the resort for a weekend escape in partnership with L’Space Swim, to relax and hang out by the pool. I never “relax” on trips so it actually felt like the first time I did in years which was nice.  I brought a friend with me and we spent our days relaxing by the pool, had a private meditation session and enjoyed the beautiful spa. Traveling all the time takes a toll on me, so having a few day retreat like this once in a while is much needed for my health lol. I love Palm Springs. My grandparents had a house there so growing up it would be the place where we would have family getaways a few times a year on special occasions. Palm Springs is kind of nostalgic to me. I remember the warm nights spent with my family, spending hours by the pool, going out to dinners and making breakfast all together …

IBIZA + FORMENTERA, SPAIN

I chose Spain as my summer destination, so had to make a stop in Ibiza to see a few of my friends that were also there for the summer. This was my second time in Ibiza, but I had gone in 2010 when I was a lot younger and had no idea what I was doing back then lol. Now I know how to do it right- a bunch of my friends go every summer and I was with a good group this time who knew all the places to go. We rented an AirBnB villa and also rented a car to get around the island. We stacked up with groceries and booze for the week and spent the days at the villa, and nights out. To be honest, I’m not the biggest drinker or partier anymore, so going out five nights in a row in Ibiza sounded like pure torture to me lol. I went out three of the five nights which was more than enough for me. The clubs there aren’t really my …

MALLORCA, SPAIN

Mallorca was the final finale of my summer ’17 trip. It was the perfect end to an incredible summer in Europe. I had been to Mallorca in 2010, but only for one night. I spent five nights this time and stayed in an AirBnB in a charming alley in the heart of Palma, which is Mallorca’s capital city. Palma has plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars and it’s so nice to wander and get lost in the streets there. You can pretty much walk everywhere in Palma and it’s a great central location to stay on the island. I also have to recommend Rambla 28 for a fresh and healthy meal. I called it “Mama’s Kitchen” because it was always a woman or her daughter cooking everything in front of you in their little shop that serves healthy toasts, smoothies, salads, and the bombest sweet and savory crepes made from scratch. I literally went there every day for five days straight for a meal. It’s on La Rambla street in the heart of Palma and its …

RECAP OF PUEBLO BONITO PACIFICA RESORT & SPA, CABO

I recently came back from a trip with my mom in Cabo, staying at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica. I never get to travel with my mom so it was really special to get to bring her. Usually when I go somewhere I barely spend any time at the hotel and I’m out exploring and interacting with people and the locals. This trip, we decided to just relax and really enjoy the resort. I always tell people I go on trips, never vacation. This was the closest I felt on vacation in awhile. We stayed at Pueblo Bonito for three nights. Nestled on a beautiful beach front with 2.5 miles of a wide, pristine and empty beach, this luxury all-inclusive resort exclusively caters to adults only. We stayed in the Towers at Pacifica, which is a more modern yet elegant addition to the resort, and our room was beautiful. When you think of an all-inclusive resort, you usually tend to think it’s not as nice, or the food isn’t as good, but this was the nicest all-inclusive resort …

MAKING LIFESTYLE CHANGES

The number one question I’m asked… Whats my diet and workout routine, and how I stay in shape while traveling. I wrote a post about it a few years ago that you can read here, but I have some new tips and “adjustments” since I wrote that article. I thought there is no better time than now than writing this article again, because I FINALLY am making the shift into a healthier lifestyle. Took only 30 years…better late than never lol! Like I said in my previous article I wrote a few years ago, I am extremely blessed that I am not overweight with my history in how much I can eat along with my poor eating habits. I love my burgers! If you know me, you know I LOVE all food, and have pretty much been able to eat what I want my whole life (thank you mom and dad), but as I’m getting older I realized I had to do some major adjustments with my lifestyle. It’s not just about having a good body …

DA GRECO, BARCELONA

One of the restaurants that was recommended  to me in Barcelona by a few people, was Da Greco for Italian food. I wasn’t particularly thrilled to be eating Italian food in Spain, but then again, I’m always down for a good pasta dish. Usually if a place is recommended by a few people, I always want to give it a try, it must be good right? I also heard that Jay Z & Beyonce go there when in Barcelona, so that was another incentive, lol. We had our hotel call to make a reservation, and they couldn’t get through so we decided to just show up. It was the day after the terrorist attack, and a lot of restaurants and businesses shut down for a few days, so we were expecting to show up at a closed restaurant. When we showed up the door to the restaurant was locked. We stood there in defeat, bummed that we couldn’t experience it, and started to look for other dinner options on our phone. A few minutes later, …

MY SPANISH SUMMER: BARCELONA GUIDE

I usually pick one to two destinations each summer to travel to. This summer I chose Spain and spent the majority of my time there. I visited Barcelona, Ibiza, Mallorca and Valencia. I wanted to do an overall break down of my favorites in every city from food, clubs, beaches or sights to see. First up, Barcelona! I went in the beginning of summer and at the end- when I visited Barcelona at the end of summer in August I was there during the terrorist attack that occurred on Las Ramblas. I was staying at a hotel just a few minutes away, and it was a serious wakeup call to what is going on in this world, and it was the first terrorist attack in Barcelona ever. I went back the second time to Barcelona to attend a festival called Fiestas De Gracias which is a local neighborhood street festival. The different neighborhoods in Gracia decorate their streets and its a competition who has the best decorated street, the winner receiving a big cash prize. The …
