I designed 14 swim suits for my own swim collection for Naked Wardrobe. I am always traveling to beaches around the world and I am that blogger always in a bikini, so it made perfect sense. I designed the suits with my personal style and body type in mind. This collection represents me and my style. It’s simple, classic and sexy. I’ve never designed my own collection for anything before so it was a learning process, but super exciting to see an idea flourish into existence.
I am a perfectionist so wanted everything to be perfect on the first run- but obviously ran into some trials and tribulations which is common. A few things backed up the release date but better late than never right!
I wanted every style to come in black, white and nude. I opted out on colors and patterns and stuck to classic solid neutral prints. The manufacturer didn’t have the right color nude I wanted so we got backed up on the nude styles because we decided to create the color nude from scratch and dye the fabric. Therefore, the nude pieces weren’t ready in time with the black and whites so I’m releasing a separate nude collection which is launching in just a few weeks 🙂
Please note- 7 styles are launching tonight in black and white. The rest of the 7 styles will be up next week. So not all styles are releasing tonight.
I was a stickler with the fabric. I wanted it to feel buttery. I didn’t want that scratchy texture that most swimsuits have. I wanted almost like a “SPANX” feel, where it feels like you aren’t wearing anything and the fabric just hugs and molds to your body shape. It took some time to find the perfect fabric but I am really happy with the ending result. I also wanted every swim suit to be seamless. I like the look of no seams.. it looks cleaner to me, but it’s also a lot of work to take all the seams out which was also a contributing factor in delaying the release date for the suits.
Everyone that has worn my suits so far has said they make them feel sexy and they are extremely flattering. It doesn’t cut you in weird places and just feels good on the body which was important to me. Most women are self conscious or insecure in some way wearing a bathing suit, so I really wanted suits that made women feel sexy and confident. Swim suits are also ridiculously overpriced- mine are top quality and hand made at an affordable price point- between $34-$42 for a complete set!
I wanted to give you a little insight on the process of creating this line- it is super exciting to see it all come together and my vision come to life. I hope you like the suits and would LOVE any suggestions or comments that I can keep in mind for the next run!
xoxo
