MY THOUGHTS ON THE NEW CANON EOSR MIRRORLESS CAMERA

I have always considered myself a storyteller. That’s how I know the best stories have plot twists in them. Four years ago, I thought I had my storyline mapped out. I was in a happy relationship, working as a producer for E!’s Fashion Police, and living comfortably off steady paychecks. One day I woke up, broke up with my boyfriend, quit my job and dropped all that hard-earned stability for a plane ticket in pursuit of a new adventure. Armed with corporate-job experience that deepened my understanding of the production and storytelling process, I continued to blog (which I had done on the side during my corporate job) about my food, travel and lifestyle passions. Fast forward to present day, and this dream has become more of a reality. Over the years, I have learned about various tools that better showcase my style, as well as which kinds of content are truly engaging for my followers. While much has changed in my style and the “method behind my madness,” if you will, my ultimate goal …

FINLAND

I tried to go to Finland this past December but it was so last minute I couldn’t make it work in time. I have always dreamed to be in a place like Finland over the Holidays- Rudolph, sleigh rides, Santa’s home, Northern lights- it always seemed so magical to me and what more of a perfect time than to go over Christmas and the holidays. That is obviously the busiest time of year just like most places so I decided to plan a trip for February instead which is also considered peak season there, and you still get the beautiful snowy winter vibes. I went for 9 days and stayed at 5 different places, so I got a really well-rounded feel of Lapland. In this blog post I will share my full itinerary, list my recommendations and tips, and share where I stayed. Finland is a magical place and I would recommend it as a travel destination to anyone. There are many reasons to visit Finland- I found the Finnish people to be very nice, …

TRINIDAD CARNIVAL 2019

Another Carnival for the books! This was my 2nd year doing Carnival in Trinidad. I have only done Carnival in Jamaica and Trinidad (Brazil is still on my bucket list), but I love going to the one in Trinidad.  I love everything about Carnival. The music, the dancing, the culture- it’s an event that brings people together no matter where you’re from with good vibes all around. This year I had so much fun. I played with Harts both years because I love their costumes and the energy of their band, I’ve met so many amazing people in the past two years. This year I brought my good friend Racquel with me and we had a blast. I wrote a blog post on my first Carnival experience in Trinidad here, with lots of general info you need to know for your first time. I got so many more questions on logistics this year for attending Carnival, and how much it costs and where I got my costume etc. You can read my first blog post …

MY TULUM GUIDE

Just got back from Tulum, and already getting so many questions on recommendations on what to do there, where to go and obviously where to eat 🙂 Thought I’d share my favorite spots with you guys. I highly suggest renting a car when arriving in Cancun. You can rent a car for super cheap, and it gives you the flexibility and freedom to do whatever you want on your own time and not have to rely on finding taxi’s everywhere you go. Tulum is a 1.5 hour drive from the Cancun airport and it’s a straight shot on the highway basically. It’s an easy drive. Tip: Check to see if your credit card provides rental car insurance benefits. You can decline their insurance and use your CC’s- I would print a copy of the insurance terms your CC offers and give to them in a hard copy form. Good way to save money, and most of the time you can get crazy cheap deals at any rental car company at the Cancun airport. THE REAL …

EMSCULPT BODY TREATMENT REVIEW

Happy New Year guys! I know the majority of the posts on my blog are about food and travel but I also wanted to share a little bit about my life when I’m home in LA. Since I’ve had some time off traveling coming into the new year, I’ve decided to focus on myself and self-care. I’ve been giving my body the rest it needs and trying to get back on a routine which is difficult to do when on the road. I don’t consistently work out, I also don’t sleep well and don’t eat right when I travel and it starts to take a toll on me. I finally started to go back in the gym which was SUPER hard for me after months of not going. Because I am in an active mindset right now, in addition to the gym I decided to start EMSCULPT treatments by BTL Aesthetics. EMSCULPT is the first and only non-invasive body treatment that activates and enhances both muscle strength and body fat breakdown. FDA cleared and clinically proven, this treatment …

8 DAYS IN TUNISIA

Everybody goes to Morocco- at lease everyone in my world of travel blogging. I’ve never been to Morocco and I’m DYING to go,  its on the top of my list.  I was planning a trip to Morocco this past October and changed my mind…I chose to travel to Tunisia instead. I hadn’t seen anyone I know travel there before, therefore I was interested in it. I was in Italy for two weeks and ended my trip in Sicily, which  is just a short one hour flight into Tunis. I decided to spend 3 nights in Tunis, and 5 nights in Hammamet, Tunisia. I really didn’t know what to expect but I was curious about the culture and excited to learn about it. I found the people to be warm and genuine, and overall I felt good vibes everywhere I went. Tunisia is a Muslim country in Northern Africa bordering the Mediterranean sea and the Sahara Desert. They speak Arabic and French. I recently got the new EOS R camera from Canon and was eager to …

COOKING PAELLA IN BARCELONA

The last time I visited Barcelona I cooked authentic Spanish paella at a local’s house. I knew I wanted to do something with food while I was there, and what better way than learning how to make one of the most traditional Spanish dishes. The program was called La Salsamenta, and you can book through their website or find them on Air B n’ B experiences for Barcelona. I learned a lot about Paella and it was such a fun and interactive experience. Watch the video below of the highlights, and a big thank you to La Salsamenta for having me!

A CURATED GUIDE TO MALTA

Malta has always been a fascinating place to me and has been on my radar for years. I finally had the opportunity to visit through a trip with the Malta Tourism Authority for six days this past October. I tried to squeeze in a visit over the summer, but I couldn’t make it work with my travel schedule. When the opportunity came around for an October visit, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I flew into Malta from Tunisia which was a quick one-hour flight on Air Malta. I flew back to Los Angeles from Malta on British Airways business class with a layover in London. I was blown away by the impeccable service on both British Airways flights, and how friendly and attentive the flight attendants were. It made it a real pleasure to fly. The business class was spacious and super comfortable with a full flat lay bed from London to LA. The food served on flight was also good. I would definitely recommend British Airways to anyone, and I can’t wait to …
