DITCH PLAINS, NEW YORK CITY

Ditch Plains is a casual cool, stylish spot known for it’s fresh seafood, such as their oyster shooters, fresh fish of the day, fish tacos, warm crab dip, their famous lobster roll or just all around good comfort food such as their fried pickles or their DITCH DOG, a hot dog smothered with mac’ n cheese. But what I am blogging about is none of the above. What is worthy of a blog post is their incredibly unique and awesome FRENCH TOAST.  I already started eating it when I realized I forgot to take a pic! lol Ditch Plains is located on 29 Bedford Street in New York City in a quiet, quaint and charming neighborhood in West Village. It has a sleek, trendy-casual feel, and it a perfect place for brunch because they have amazing breakfast and lunch choices it’s hard to decide which one to choose. Photo by: ditch-plains.com My friend recommended Ditch Plains for their french toast. He said it was the best french toast in New York, so my friends and I decided to go there for breakfast/brunch to see what …

BONDST JAPANESE/SUSHI RESTAURANT, NEW YORK CITY

BondSt, located on 6 Bond Street in NYC, is known to be one of the best sushi restaurants in Manhatten. My friends who live in Brooklyn took me there, and swore it was the best sushi in the city. I talked to many other people, read many reviews, and everyone at the restaurant lounge who I spoke to who were regulars there that lived in NYC, swore it’s the best. Living in LA, I have high expectations when it comes to sushi. There are thousands of great sushi spots in and around LA so I was pretty excited to try the best in NYC. BondSt is located on a quiet street in NoHo, and there isn’t even a name on the outside of the restaurant- just the address. We walked in and the table wasn’t ready so they recommended us to go out the door and down stairs (as if you were going underground), to the lounge and have a drink as we wait for the table. The lounge was packed  and had a very …

DI FARA PIZZA “A Booklyn Legend”- BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

Me in front of Di Fara’s pizza in Brooklyn, NY   This post is dedicated to the BEST pizza I ever ate. A destination for foodie heaven. Di Fara pizza, also known as “a Brooklyn legend”… Di Fara Pizza is a hole in the wall spot on the corner of Avenue J & East 15th street in Midwood, Brooklyn, NY. This place has thousands and thousands of reviews and it is rated one of the top places for pizza in the United States. If you read any review on this place, people give high praise to the pizza, saying it’s not only the best pizza in America or Italy, but the best pizza on EARTH. It’s $5 a slice, and a whole pie is $28. With it being $5 a slice, I was expecting some pretty damn good pizza and it definitely fulfilled my expectations. In every blog or review I read on Di Fara’s, they said the average wait time for pizza is 45 minutes but waiting 2 hours isn’t unsual either. I was super lucky because when I …

BLT PRIME STEAKHOUSE

I have to do a posting JUST for BLT Prime’s popover bread. It’s out of this world, and I know this is a bold statement, but it is the best bread I have ever had.  Yah, I said it. I’ve been to the one in New York City (Grammercy Park) a couple times for dinner, and everything at BLT is good, but their popovers are something to write home about. There are other BLT Prime locations as well. One in LA too! They bring the bread out on a tray with butter, and the recipe along with it because almost EVERYONE asks for the recipe. When you break the bread steam comes out of it. It is so fluffy and buttery, crispy on the outside and warm, soft/fluffy on the inside. There are no words to explain how amazing this bread is. I can make a meal out of it. Who needs steak after this? I’ve had the steak, oysters, all the side dishes, and the desserts on the menu, and everything at BLT is good, …

KATZ’S DELI- MANHATTAN, NYC

I was in New York this past week and ate at the most FAMOUS & BEST spots in the city. Of course, being in NYC for a week, I had to go to a deli. Not just any deli, but I wanted to go to the best. I saw Katz’s deli on the Travel Channel awhile ago and have been wanting to go there ever since. It is rated one of NYC’s best deli’s. It is famous for their pastrami. This delicatessan has been known and famous since 1888 and is located on the lower east side. This place has so much history, and the walls are covered with pictures of major celebrities that have eaten at Katz’s. If you want a real authentic deli that isn’t swarmed with tourists, Katz’s is where it’s at. Like I said Katz’s deli is famous for their pastrami. The pastrami is cooked for 24 hours. My sandwich had no fatty meat, you could tell it was a good cut of meat. The kitchen wheels the pastrami out on carts and slice it …

PIZZERIA MOZZA, LOS ANGELES

I went to Pizzeria Mozza last night with my girls on the corner of Highland and Melrose Ave. This place is famous in LA. It is a Pizzeria and Osteria attached next to each other, Pizzeria Mozza being more casual and Osteria Mozza being way more upscale and fancy. They both have different menus as well but they are the same restaurant.Mozza is known for their pizza, but is also known for having really good food all around. This place was so hyped up for me- everyone was always telling me how good it was. My family and I have tried to make reservations at this place for months but they never had anything available during regular dinner hours so it never worked out.You can’t get a reservation at this place unless you call a month in advance. Literally. They don’t even answer phones there. There are two numbers and they only answer one of them (which is the number not advertised on their website so no one even knows about that number). The only …

4.0 DELI, SAN DIEGO

The Buffalo Bleu Philly This hole in the wall sandwich joint is located right next to San Diego State University, in San Diego. Burgers and sandwiches are my FAVORITE food, so when I tell you a place has a good sandwich, I’m serious so listen up!      4.0 Deli is a sandwich spot, very well-known among all the college kids in San Diego. It is always busy- it’s a small place in a shopping center right next to the university. They have flat screen TV’s which always has a sports game on, and they serve beer too! Students go there during their lunch breaks, or on weekends to watch a sports game. I’ve been to 4.0 several times and it has truly one of my favorite sandwiches of all time. Since it is in a college city, prices are super cheap too. If you are in San Diego and want a good sandwich, this place is MY top choice. BUT, just like at any place, you gotta know WHAT to order and HOW to order…read …

THE LOBSTER, SANTA MONICA

Last night I had the most amazing dinner at The Lobster on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica. It’s right next to the Santa Monica pier, and it’s open for lunch and dinner. If you love seafood, you will love this restaurant. It’s romantic and beautiful for dinner, and it is the best place to go during the summer while the sun is setting for happy hour! It’s right on the ocean. When you make a reservation, request for table near the window so you have beautiful views of the SM pier and the ocean. This place is definitely upscale, not one of your hole in the walls. Menu prices are pricey, but worth the money in my opinion for special occasions. If you are on a budget, I recommend going for lunch or happy hour. You can order appetizers or shellfish, or their famous Santa Monica Style Lobster Roll, Kobe beef cheeseburger, or grilled chicken pita sandwich which they serve until 3pm. Take a look below to see what I ordered. I highly recommend everything, and …

ROSCOE’S HOUSE OF CHICKEN N’ WAFFLES

This place is a Los Angeles landmark. Lol. No really though, if you live in LA and never been here, I don’t even know what to say to you. If you are visiting LA, this place is a must. Roscoe’s is a Hollywood classic; always packed, cozy hole in the wall located in the heart of Hollywood. It’s good ol’ Southern comfort food for the soul, and is known for their combo of fried chicken and waffles. I know there are some people who can’t get how the combination of fried chicken and waffles would be good together, but trust me, it’s a masterpiece. It’s obviously not a meal to indulge in every day lol,  but once in awhile it is totally necessary, worth the calories and absolutely amazing. It’s open late night too, but if you plan on going after the club, expect it to be jammed packed with a crowd outside and a long wait. They have a big menu, all Southern food. Everything I’ve tried is really good, but I obviously recommend …
