I had an amazing dinner at Aventine in Hollywood. This Italian trattoria, bar and patio is Hollywood’s hottest addition to the Los Angeles competitive dining and social scene. Whether you just want to have cocktails on the rustic Mediterranean patio, or choose to have an authentic & delicious Italian dinner, both options are ideal at Aventine. The restaurant is pretty perfect for any occasion— romantic dates, business meetings, any special occasion or even to pre-game with friends before hitting the Hollywood night club scene. It’s hip, sexy, packed with beautiful people, and just has an overall good vibe. I had the pleasure to interview two of the partners of Aventine, Sylvain Bitton & JT Torregiani about the restaurant.
Baby arugula pesto, reduced cherry balsamic, black lava salt, evoo, grilled crostini
The burrata was creamy and heavenly. It melted in your mouth. I could just eat it alone it was so delicious, but mixed with the arugula pesto on top of the crostini made the perfect bite. I loved this appetizer. The flavors were incredible and I loved how creamy the burrata was.
Housemade meatballs, sauteed red onion, fresh oregano, mozzarella
It’s hard to find really good pizza in LA. This was definitely a good pizza. I could taste the freshness in each ingredient, and I loved the thin, crispy crust. It had great flavor and the sausage made a great topping. They have a bunch of different pizzas offered on the menu, I want to try some of their other ones next time!
Fresh ricotta, pesto cream sauce
I think this was my personal favorite of the night. Sylvain mentioned this dish in our interview as one of the most popular dishes at Aventine. I absolutely died over this pesto cream sauce! It was cheesy, creamy and delicious. love pesto and the cream sauce . Each little gnocchi was gushing with flavor. They were like little, soft fluffy clouds lol. The sauce makes it a rich dish, but so amazing. I definitely recommend ordering this!
Meatball stuffed with mozzarella, basil pesto, golden raisins, soft polenta
This meatball had so much flavor! I could eat the meatball on it’s own, it didn’t even need the polenta, but it added a different texture, flavor and creaminess to it which I liked. There was a lot of flavors going on between the marinara sauce, the pesto, the golden raisins, the polenta and the actual flavor of the meatball, but all in one bite it worked so well together. Great dish!
Stuffed with short ribs, rice, swiss chard, demi cream sauce
This is the famous Agnolotti pasta that Sylvain talks about in our interview. After I took a bite I understood why! The pasta itself was soft and tender-you can taste the freshness, and can tell they make it fresh daily. The short rib inside had good flavor and very tender. It was so yummy mixed with the rich demi cream sauce. Loved it!

I love Aventine! Whether I go to have a couple cocktails and appetizers with friends or go for a full dinner, I always have a great experience. Each dish has so much flavor, the food is truly amazing. The patio is beautiful and I like how you have the option to chose to be seated indoors or outdoors.
